Billy Payne was the Pastor of Fox Fairview Church for several years in the 1970’s. During that time, Fox Fairview was Blessed to see many souls come to Jesus Christ and friendships forged that would span to the generations of today.
In addition to his unique style of Preaching, many loved to hear him sing.
While still at home, Billy and his Children traveled and sang at Revivals, Homecomings and Events.
In later years, Billy sang predominately sang by himself and typically without any instruments accompanying him.
We learned in later years that Billy was an excellent acoustic guitar player having played at local establishments after returning home from WWII.
Brother Billy shared with Friends after he was saved that the guitar accompanied him when he was in the world and he desired to leave it behind.
We are thrilled to share 3 recordings with you.
One is of Brother Billy singing a collection of songs, acapella.
The second is him accompanied by a piano only.
The third is lifted from The Old Time Religion Hour. It is him singing and introducing a message that he preached on the radio and was recorded at Palestine Church on Saturday, April 21, 1990.
Brother Billy Payne never had the opportunity to record professionally at a studio. In honor of his commitment to the Ministry and many families of the area, we have compiled these songs and named the project “Having A Good Time In The Lord” and dedicate it to his Children.
We hope you enjoy it!
