Okay, Brothers and Sisters, Raise your hand if you’ve ever Prayed before an Algebra or Trigonometry Test in Brenda Wade’s Class! (Some of you better raise both hands!)
Not only is Brenda Wade one of the best Mathematicians in America, she is an Incredible Sister in Christ that has special memories of her time at Fox-Fairview Church.
Recently we caught up with Brenda Brown-Wade to share her Memories of her time at Fox-Fairview Christian Church.
Brenda Wade is the Daughter of the Late Dale and Late Thelma Myers-Brown.
Her Sister is Marieda Brown-Gilmore of Kitts Hill and her Brother is Paul Brown of Lexington.
Brenda attended Fox-Fairview Christian Church with her Husband, the Late Richard L. Wade around 1974-1976.
While it was a short time, Brenda says it was a very special time and even though it’s been 50 years, she will never forget the times she had there.
Brenda says she had always heard of Billy Payne and his Preaching but never actually heard him Preach until the first time she attended Fox-Fairview Church.
“Being able to Worship with my Husband, My Parents, Brother and Sister, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins was something that was very special to me and definitely a highlight of my time there”, says Brenda.
It was there that her Husband, Richard got his start teaching Sunday School. Richard, as many of you know was a Student of the Bible went on to teach most likely at every Church he attended and announced his calling to Preach in the mid 1990’s and went home to be with the Lord just over 20 years ago.
Richard was a very special guy-his own Guy. The Guy he felt God called him to be.
Brenda recalled having a special honor of being asked to play piano for the Choir a few times. She mentioned how gracious they were to let her play, being a new Piano player and that she’ll never forget it.
In addition to her Family, Brenda says the commitment from Red and Hazel White always stood out to her, Red leading services and Hazel taking part and being secretary. She says The Whites always come to mind when she thinks of Fox-Fairview Church.
“While I can’t remember her name, I get a blessing when I think of a special Lady who traveled from Ironton to be in services with us regularly. She LOVED to sing and she got Blessed when she sang. She was just a very happy lady and I’ll never forget her”, Brenda said.
Brenda’s Sister and Brother, Marieda and Paul were both Saved and Baptized at Fox-Fairview Church and she says that will always be another highlight of her time at Fox-Fairview Church.
We should note that very few conversations we’ve had on this Tribute Project of Fox-Fairview Church have been absent of words about Thelma Brown.
Dale and Thelma have both passed on now, sadly with Thelma going home to be with Jesus this past February, but the memories and Legacy of their Family will always continue through the Friends of Fox Fairview Church (or when we talk about The Browns, The Family of Fox Fairview Church.)
Even Brenda Wade would never be able to compute the number of lives that have been touched throughout the years as part of Fox-Fairview Church and for that, we say, Thank you, Lord for your Blessings on us.
God Bless You.
